HI
RECORDS ARTIST ACE
CANNON
|
| Born
May 5, 1934, in Grenada, Mississippi, John Henry Cannon, Jr.
preferred his nickname “Ace.” Gaining a love for
music from his father, who was a professional hillbilly
country guitar player, Ace took up the saxophone in fifth
grade. Playing behind many Sun Records artists, he became one
of the premier sax players in Memphis. A former member of the
Bill Black Combo, Ace has recorded more solo albums on Hi than
any other artist. |
