HI
RECORDS ARTIST O.V.
WRIGHT
|
|
Born October 19, 1939 in Leno, Tennessee, Overton Vertis
(O.V.) Wright began singing gospel in church and later
fronting gospel groups. Wright was in his late thirties by the
time he signed with the Hi label. However, Producer
Willie Mitchell had been cutting a number of impressive tunes
on Wright for years on the Backbeat label. Plagued by personal
problems, Wright died in a Memphis hospital following a
massive heart attack at the age of 41.
